BDE: Rebbetzin Sarah Gittel Kornreich a”h

Boro Park - We are saddened to inform of the petira of Rebbetzin Sarah Gittel Kornreich, the mother of two rebbes and a former longtime resident of Boro Park, who passed away on Shabbos. She was in her 90s.

The levaya of the rebbetzin, whose husband was Rav Tzvi Elimelech zt”l and whose two sons are Kossov Vizhnitzer rebbe and Shidlovtza rebbe, took place on Motzei Shabbos in Yerushalayim.

Kvura was on Har Hazeisim.

The rebbetzin survived the Holocaust and arrived in the United States after the war, marrying Rev Kornreich, a respected Bobover chassid. They had three sons — one son became a son-in-law of the previous Seret Vizhnitzer rebbe, another son who is the son-in-law of the Biala rebbe of Bnei Brak, and a third who is a son-in-law of the Lelover rebbe — and two daughters, one of whom married Rav Nachman Yosef Twersky, a son of Rav Nochum of Rachmastrivke, and the other Rav Yaakov Shimshon Brezovsky, the son of the Slonimer rebbe.

Her husband was niftar two years ago and she moved to Eretz Yisroel. She became ill recently and was hospitalized in the Laniado Medical Center in Netanya where she passed away Shabbos morning.
