BDE: R’ Shulem Bochner, z”l, Esteemed Bobover Chossid

We are saddened to inform you of the passing of R’ Shulem Bochner, a survivor of a number of concentration camps, and an esteemed Bobover chossid. He was 99 years of age. 

Reb Shulem was a Yid who was filled with the chein of the alte heim—a staunchly proud Yid and chossid, and model of a chassidishe Yid who never compromised. He would share his life experiences and his memories of the old home with many in the younger generations. 

In recent years, the Bobover Rov, shlit”a, asked Reb Shulem to share his memories and experiences with the younger generation. The Ruv also mentioned in public this past Summer that it is a zechus for the chasidus to have such mesirus nefesh Yidden among them. 

The niftar was the father of the legendary R’ Shloime Bochner, founder of the venerated Bonei Olam organization. 

With his passing, we have lost yet another rare link to the world that was. 

The Levaya will take place at the Bobover Beis Medrash at 10:15 this morning.
