Suspect Steals a Few Hundred Dollars from Bais Yaakov d’Ger

The NYPD is looking for a white male perpetrator, who was wearing navy blue shorts and a black t-shirt, strode into the Bais Yaakov D’Ger School on 1975 51st St., on Friday, June 18, at 4:15pm, walked up to the second floor, and broke open a drawer, where the school’s principal kept cash, before stealing a few hundred dollars.

An employee of the institution saw on school’s monitoring system, enter the school, after he had been standing, waiting, and looking at his phone, as if perhaps he were communicating with someone in the building, from across the street.

No children were in the building, as the school year had ended, and day camp had not yet begun. The perpetrator, who appeared to know exactly where he was headed, crossed the street, strode into the girls’ school, and casually walked straight up into the principal's office, “like he knew where he was going”.

“He checked one door beforehand,” the school’s employee said. “I am not sure whether he thought someone was inside or not.”

“He went to the principal’s office, where he just opened the door, and broke open the drawer where the principal’s keeps the cash, and he just walked off: as nothing happened.”

A police report has been filed.
