Johnson & Johnson Vaccines Offered in Boro Park for First Time - Priority to Holocaust Survivors

Brooklyn, NY— Following Mayor Bill de Blasio announcement to prioritize vaccination for Holocaust survivors and with the nonstop assistance of the Mayors advisor Pinny Ringel, the Boro Park Jewish Community Council (BPJCC) and the Boro Park Y have secured a block of appointments for the new Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccinations in Boro Park for Sunday, March 14. The tremendous advantage of the new Johnson & Johnson vaccination is that only one dose is required.

Appointments will be given on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to Holocaust survivors and isolated seniors.

To register for Sunday’s free vaccination, visit http://bit.ly/BP-19 to sign up for priority appointments. Qualified individuals will receive a follow-up call to schedule an appointment for Sunday and free transportation

if needed.

“We are excited that for the very first time, Boro Park survivors and isolated seniors will receive the J&J vaccination,” says Avi Greenstein, BPJCC CEO. “We feel fortunate to be able to take this next step in a program that has already helped over 750 survivors receive vaccines. The J&J vaccination is a breakthrough for Holocaust survivors to eliminate them having to go twice. The BPJCC and Boro Park Y thank the UJA Federation for their strong support and partnership, which enables us to do this work.”

Boro Park Holocaust survivors who are vaccinated can apply to receive delicious Shabbos meals sponsored by The Blue Card and Heritage Levavot. The Shabbos meals will be delivered once a month.. Vaccinated Holocaust survivors can sign up at http://bit.ly/HSRCSM for the Shabbos food program.

For any questions or for those without internet access who need to schedule an appointment, call the BPJCC at (718) 972-6600 ext. 4602.
