BDE: Reb Yitzchak Baruch Schachter, Z"L

We are saddened to inform you of the passing of Yitzchak Baruch Schachter, a”h, who passed away this morning.

Schachter, a longtime and respected member of Boro Park’s Bobov kehilla, was 97. A Holocaust survivor, Reb Schachter, z”l, was born in Krakow, Poland, to Chaim Yehoshua Schachter and Shaindel Schacter, née Stern. Schachter, whose wife was Rivka Schacter, a”h, was a businessman who sold wholesale candy.

Schachter is survived by three children: Ruchel Berger, Shia Schacter, Berel Schachter, and 14 grandchildren.

“Everyone loved him,” said, one of Reb Yitzchak’s grandchildren. “He was a real fighter. Plus, he learned morning, noon, and night.”

The levaya will take place today in front of the Bobov shul at 11am at 1533 48th St. Reb Schachter will be buried in Ha Hazaisim in Jerusalem.
