The Klausenberger Beis Medrash on 50th Street has a storied past. Before it began to serve as the center of the chassidus, it was the home of Shomrei Shabbos Anshei Novogrod, which sold it to the kehillah.
The chassidus has outgrown the current main beis medrash, and an expansion has become a necessity, according to leaders within the chassidus.
“Due to the growth of our kehillah, ka”h, those who daven and learn within the walls of our shul, as well as those who come to be with the Rebbe shlit”a for days of celebration and Yomim Tovim, to a point where the congestion of the crowd is intense, the hanholoh of the kehillah has decided to exponentially expand the main beis medrash,” a statement said.
All side rooms on the main floor will be encompassed into one large room, allowing the crowds to spread over the enlarged room. The expansion is expected to be completed in time for the Yomim Nora’im of 5784.
