Sadigerer Rebbe of Yerushalayim to Visit Boro Park
The Boro Park community is preparing these days to
welcome the Rav Mordechai Sholom Yosef Friedman, shlit”a, the Sadigerer
Rebbe of Yerushalayim, who will spend the days of his visit to the United
States amongst this community.
This is his first visit to America since his acceptance of
the leadership of the chassidim in Yerushalayim, since the passing of his
father, Harav Yisroel Moshe Friedman, zt”l last summer. The Rebbe is named for
the paternal great-grandfather who spent years in America, and reestablished
the court of Sadigura in the postwar era. He was the right hand of his
grandfather, Rebbe Avrohom Yaakov, and was instrumental in buying back
properties in Ukraine that belonged to the court, as well as the resting places
of the Admorim of Sadigura.
The Rebbe will stay with his uncle, Reb Yaakov Feldman, a
noted ba’al tzeddakah and a son of the noted philanthropist, Reb Chaim Moshe
Feldman of Stamford Hill, London.
A welcoming reception will be held this Tuesday evening to
welcome the Rebbe to Boro Park.
