New York City mayoral candidate Andrew Yang is experiencing mild symptoms, feeling well, and is in good spirits after testing positive for COVID-19, he tweeted today.

“I’m quarantining and adhering to public health guidelines until I can get back out on the campaign trail,” tweeted Yang, who ran for the Democratic presidential nomination on a platform that focused on the necessity of a universal basic income for all Americans.

"When the time is right, I look forward to once again hitting the campaign trail and advancing a positive vision for our city's future," said Yang, who said he will continue as many virtual events as possible.

"Our team has begun the contact tracing process to notify anyone who may have been in close contact with me," said Yang. "Our safety protocols require staffers who participate in in-person campaign activities get tested on a weekly basis."
