Gov. Cuomo: Indoor Dining Banned in NYC Starting Monday
Governor Cuomo announced on Friday that indoor dining will be closed in NYC starting on Monday with no end day in sight. The Governor cited the increase in COVID cases as his reasoning for shutting indoor dining.
Outdoor dining, pickup, and delivery may continue to operate, the Governor said.
Cuomo said that restaurants and bars are responsible for under 2% of the virus spread based on data gathered from 46,000 points, likely collected by the contact tracing program.
The data shows that 74% of the virus transmission comes from household gatherings, with no other source reaching double digits. Healthcare delivery is the number 2 cause at 7.8%.
