FBI Publishes Hebrew and Yiddish Posters to Encourage Yidden to More Frequently Report Hate Crimes

The New York Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has published posters and ads, in both Yiddish and Hebrew, to encourage Yidden to more frequently report hate crimes, which often go unreported, due to language and cultural barriers.

In addition to also translating its posters into Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Urdu, and Hindi, and the FBI soon will be able to accept hate crimes reports in any language, after meeting with leaders from both Jewish and Asian-American communities, which have both experienced upticks in hate crimes of late.

“You have a political opinion about the Middle East conflict, you are entitled to it,” said Gov. Andrew Cuomo today at a press conference after the Anti-Defamation League reported 47% increase in reported anti-Semitic hate crimes in New York, in the last 11 days. “You express that [opinion] through an anti-Semitic act; it is un-American. It violates New York’s ethic, and it is illegal.”

“We are providing additional state troopers to Jewish communities: especially Jewish religious and educational facilities, and we are going to be providing priority protection during Shabbos because, as you know, there have been a disturbing number of incidents, and I want our message to be very loud and clear.

“New Yorkers stand together in solidarity. We have no tolerance for discrimination against anyone.
