Drunk Driver Crashes, Police Refuse to Make Arrest

Boro Park – A heavily intoxicated man who crashed his vehicle into two cars Sunday was not taken into custody due to the new law ending cash bail in most instances.

The drunk was driving on 12th Ave. and 51st Street in the afternoon hours when he crashed into three cars, damaging them. No one was injured in the incident and the driver was transported by EMS to the hospital.

Called to the scene, police refused to arrest the perpetrator, citing the new law that allows criminals to be free without bail for all but the most violent crimes.

Virtually every law enforcement agency in New York has warned that the law will vastly increase crime in the state.
