De Blasio Once Again Pushes Off Return of In-Person Learning

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio delayed the opening of in-person learning for almost all public schools after educators raised safety concerns.

K-5 and K-8 schools will not return to in-person learning until September 29, and middle schools and high schools not until October 1.

All 3-K, Pre-K, and District 75 schools, which service special ed children, will resume with in-person learning as scheduled.

De Blasio does not feel like schools are fully ready and prepared to return to in-person learning and has developed an updated approach to include several phases.
