Cuomo Packs up to Move out of Governor's Mansion, Lt. Gov. Hochul to Move In on Tuesday

While in Buffalo, movers are packing up Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul’s modest, waterfront apartment to move into what some have described as a “lavish governor’s mansion,” at least six workers have been seen loading up trucks to move Andrew Cuomo out of the state’s Executive Mansion in Albany: to parts unknown, as the disgraced governor does not own any property in his name, public records show.

At least six workers have been seen loading up moving trucks, the New York Post reported, before heading inside to retrieve more of the belongings of Cuomo, whose resignation comes into effect at 11:59pm on Monday night.

After Lt. Gov. Hochul is sworn in as governor on Aug. 24, she will be moved into the Executive Mansion.

“I look forward to delivering an address to all New Yorkers to lay out my vision for the great state of New York,” said Lt. Gov Kathy Hochul, who will be the state’s first female governor and who has said she will be presenting her vision for her leadership of the state shortly after she is sworn in on Tuesday.

While Lt. Gov. Hochul has been busy outlining her priorities for New York, Cuomo, who resigned in disgrace after Attorney General Letitia James presented the definitive findings of her extensive investigation that proved that Cuomo harassed at least 11 staffers, the former governor has been filing his retirement papers that would entitle him to receive a lifetime pension of $50,000 per year: paid for by taxpayers.

Cuomo’s last private residence, which he did not own, was a four-bedroom Mount Kisco home, from which he moved in 2019.

The former governor, who continues to deny any wrongdoing, continues, instead to blamed others for misinterpreting his actions due to "generational and cultural differences" and for launching accusations that are politically motivated.
