Cleaning Lady Steals and Returns $12,000 from Home on 14th Avenue
A Boro Park family was suspicious of their cleaning lady stealing thousands of dollars in cash from their home called Shmorim to find out how to potentially recover the cash. After hearing the specifics of the case, Shomrim advised them on how to go about getting evidence that she was indeed stealing from them.
After following their advice, catching their cleaning lady stealing red-handed, the Boro Park residents called Shomrim, who brought a translator who could speak to the cleaning lady in Spanish and ask her whether she has been stealing money from her employers.
The cleaning lady not only admitted that she stole money, but she reached down and retrieved $100 from one of her shoes. Then, the cleaning lady, who lives on 7th Avenue and 54th Street, admitted she had stolen additional money, as well.
At that point, Shomrim and police officers went down to her house to retrieve the rest of the stolen cash, which they found to total almost $12,000.
Police officers, who told the cleaning lady that this is her last warning, told the cleaning lady that she would not be arrested if she returned all the money, which she did immediately.
