Thousands of Dollars of Merchandise Stolen From Storefront

Boro Park – Nearly $5,000 worth of merchandise was stolen from in front of a Boro Park store Thursday afternoon.

A UPS truck delivered about $4,500 worth of carpets to a local store on 18th Avenue, dropping it off in front of the store located on 47th Street at about 4:30 in the afternoon. The store was closed at the time.

When the storeowner came later to retrieve the carpets, he was shocked to discover they were all gone. He notified Shomrim, which sent down some units.

They reviewed surveillance camera footage and discovered that a truck had pulled up and hauled away the goods.

The owner filed a police report and law enforcement officials are investigating the robbery.
