Police Reminding Residents to Lock Their Car Doors

Boro Park – Police officers are distributing palm cards to vehicles, urging drivers to be careful in making sure their car is locked when they exit it.
“When leaving your vehicle,” the card says, “close your windows, turn off the ignition and remove the keys, (and) lock you doors!”

The message says that unlocked cars are most common near stores, delis and newspaper stands, when people leave the vehicle for “just a minute” and it gets stolen.
“You might only be a ‘minute,’” the police message said, “but a minute is all a thief needs.”
