Will Boro Park See New Trees This Summer?

By Idy Perl
New trees are coming to New York this summer; 9,300 trees to be exact.
NY’s Parks Department is planning its biggest tree-planting spree in close to a decade, with those 9,300 trees getting planted in different areas around New York this spring, as reported on Gothamist. As the trees grow, they will provide both shade and air filtration, which benefits the environment and the people living in it.
In the past, Boro Park has been one of the areas in which such tree-planting sprees took place, but it doesn’t look like it will happen again this summer. As per a released map, most of the tree plantings will be in Harlem, Morningside Heights, Sunset Park, Castle Hill in the Bronx, southeast Queens, and other lower-income neighborhoods.
