Wildly Exciting: Prospect Park Zoo Roars Back to Life After Grand Reopening

By Idy Perl
After many months, the Prospect Park Zoo finally reopened this past weekend, as previously reported here.
The zoo prepared for the grand reopening by refreshing and updating some of the animal exhibits, like the sea lions’ 66,000-gallon pool, which was drained and completely scrubbed down, much to the confusion of the sea lions. "The trio was a little confused at first but quickly learned during refilling that a shallow pool provides opportunities to roll on the ground and scratch your back." the Zoo keepers wrote.
Prospect Park Zoo posted the following statement on their social media:
“Have you been porcu-pining for us while we were closed? Our team has been working non-stop to make repairs following the flood damage caused by Tropical Storm Ophelia. The day has finally come, and we are now OPEN. The animals have missed you!”
Tickets for the zoo can be purchased here.
