WhatsApp Connection Returns After Being Down Globally

Earlier this afternoon WhatsApp users around the world experienced trouble connecting to the hugely popular chat app.

An independent outage monitor, Down Detector, registered a huge spike in WhatsApp connection issues.

At the peak of the WhatsApp outage, Down Detector registered 6,000 reports in the UK.

There was poor connection for about 20 minutes until the problem was fixed.
