Whatsapp and Instagram Down for Many Users

Whatsapp and Instagram, both owned by Facebook Inc., are reporting outages for many of its users worldwide.
Messages went through on the social platform up until around 1:24, any messages sent after show the timer symbol as they are stuck in the outbox.

Update - Whatsapp is back online after reporting outages for many users since around 1:25pm on Friday.
