Wellness Weekly 16: Keep Calm; Its Almost Pesach

By Idy Perl
Pesach is almost here and you can practically feel the buzz in the air. Let's take a minute to take a breathe amidst all the hustle and bustle, and get some ideas for things to eat on Pesach that don't have matzah, eggs, or potatoes in them. A kosher'n freilichen Pesach!
Myth Buster
Myth: Pesach has to be a stressful time.
Truth: Pesach is whatever you make it to be. Although it’s easy to get caught up in the stressful parts of making Yom Tov, with a bit of effort preparing for Pesach can be, dare we even say, fun? Turn on some music while you cook and clean, take 5-minute breaks when necessary so your nerves don’t get stretched too thin, and try to focus on the privilege that have to be able to celebrate Hashem taking us out of Egypt.
Healthy Hacks
When you need something to eat on Pesach that isn’t eggs or potatoes, dice whatever fruits you have and throw together an easy fruit salad. Sprinkle a little lemon juice and vanilla sugar for extra flavor and dig in!
Wellness Wisdom
With all the delicious food we eat on Pesach its easy to start feeling a little too stuffed from all the matzah and grape juice and meat and fish and did I mention matzah? Drink some lemon water throughout the day to help ease your digestion.
