Weekly Dee Voch on Newsstands: Chanukah and 15 Years of Dee Voch Celebration!

By Idy Perl

This week’s Dee Voch is a special edition, as it marks 15 years since the first ever Dee Voch issue was published! Take a look back on the start of the magazine with a special first edition reprint, exactly how it was published 15 years ago, that is included in this week’s magazine package.

Dee Voch: This week’s Dee Voch includes a beautiful spread of the Chuf-Aleph Kislev seudas hodaha in Satmar, that took place in Waterfront Square, and Chuf-Aleph Kislev seudas hodaha in Satmar, that took place in the Barclays Center. Also featured is a gallery of the beautiful maamed haTorah from Dirshu that took place in London. In addition, there are beautiful photos of the weddings of the grandchildren of the Satmar Rebbe, the Slonim Rebbe, the Bobov-45 Rav, the Toldos Aharon Rebbe, and the youngest son of the Biala Rebbe of Bnei Brak. Also included is the Sheva Brachos of the Biala Rebbe’s daughter, and the kvitzas mezuzah at The Chasunah Plaza in Williamsburg and the new Pupa building in Linden, which also celebrated their chanukas habayis.

Shift: In this special edition of the Shrift, we sit down for a conversation with the one who founded Boro Park Shomrim, established the beloved Dee Voch magazine, and is a pioneer in photography and Rebbe portraits, the legendary Reb Hershel Rubinstein.

In celebration of the magazine’s 15th anniversary, we also present a behind-the-scenes look at the operations that go into creating Dee Voch, Shrift, and Kinder Shrift each week, by speaking with team members from each department.

Business Shrift: In honor of Chanukah we sit down with Reb Yaakov Yosef Loiber, shlit”a, of the Ner Mitzvah company—one of the most creative and unique businesses that has introduced countless innovative products to the heimish market.

Kinder Shrift: When Yeshaye’le Greenberger lit the Chanukah candles last year, he recited the brachahs with kavana. But now, a year later, he says the brachah "She’asa nissim la’avoseinu bayamim hahem bazman hazeh" with so much more intent and emotion. The meaning of the brachah has become far deeper for him. And when you hear his story and the miracles he experienced you’ll understand why.
