Weekend Weather: Following Record-Breaking Warmth, Storm that Pummeled Area Leaves, More Cold and wind Ahead

By: Yaker Biegeleisen
This week broke two records, with readings on Thursday showing temperatures of 67 and 68 degrees in Central Park and Newark respectively.
The rain and the wind on Thursday night brought an end to that spring-like weather—thanks to a cold front that moved through the area—and today, we remain cold, with powerful gusts of up to 50 MPH (temps in the low 40’s, high 30’s).
Tonight, remains cold, with temps in the thirties overnight, with more wind.
Shabbos mid-morning, we get another cold front coming through. We will begin the day with cold in the 20’s, and strong winds, which will make it feel even colder. The wind will remain here throughout Shabbos day, getting even colder throughout the day.
There is a chance of snowfall on Shabbos afternoon, as a line of snow hovers in the area, potentially leaving a dusting on our surfaces.
