Viznitzer Rebbe of Boro Park Spends Week of Holiness and Elevation at Mekomos Hakedoshim in Europe

The Viznitzer Rebbe of Boro Park is a grandson of the
previous Rebbe, Rebbe Mottele of Viznitz-Monsey, known as the Toras Mordechai,
and leads the Viznitz-Monsey Chassidim in Boro Park, centered in the Beis
Medrash on the corner of New Utrecht Avenue and 53rd Street.
This past week, the Rebbe presided over a trip to mekomos
hakedoshim in Europe—returning to the roots, to the resting places of the
luminaries of the Chassidic movements in advance of the new year, as well in
advance of the wedding that the Rebbe will be making following the Yamim Tovim.
The trip began in Krakow, from where the group traveled to
the Rebbe Rebbe Elimelech in Lizensk—where the Rebbe took kvittlach, and where
tehillim was recited with tremendous emotion. The group made a number of other
stops—most importantly, to the holy places in Kosov and Viznitz, the birthplace
of their chassidus— before proceeding to Medzibuz, the resting place of the
holy Ba’al Shem Tov, where Shabbos would be spent with incredible elevation.
It was indeed a Shabbos that will be remembered for a long
time amongst the more than three hundred people in attendance; meriting to
spend Shabbos with their Rebbe in the shadow of the holy Ba’al Shem Tov.
A tehillim was distributed to all participants in the
memory of the unforgettable Reb
Mordechai Anshel Lax, z”l, who was the longtime ba’al tefillah in
the Viznitzer Shul.
The group returned to the United States, having effected a sweet year for themselves and for
all of Klal Yisroel.
