Viener Rebbe to Spend Shabbos with Chassidim and Talmidim in Boro Park

It has been three decades since the current Viener Rebbe, Rav Asher Anshel Katz, shlit”a, has taken the helm of the Viener Kehillah. He assumed the position of the previous Viener Rov, Rav Ezriel Yehuda Lebovics, zt”l, who was niftar Rosh Hashanah 1992, following his own three decades of serving as Rov and Rosh Yeshiva in Vien.

In this time, the Rebbe has transformed the kehillah into a chassidus, and instituted changes to match the needs of the current generation, while firmly guarding the traditions of the past.

Shabbos parashas Chayei Sarah, the Rebbe will reunite with talmidim from throughout the decades, hundreds of whom have made their home in Boro Park. He will divide his time in the various Viener Shuls in Boro Park, each one geared to different age groups (the flagship Adas Yereim Shul on 50^th Street, Zichron Yehuda on 51^st Street, and Birchas Avraham on 50^th Street, respectively).

Talmidim have come to look to these special Shabbosim for a spiritual boost for the winter months ahead.
