Uber Drivers in NYC Will Strike Monday After Judge Blocks Pay Raises

BoroPark24 Staff
After a judge temporarily blocked wage increases of 7% per minute and 24% per mile for taxis, New York City Uber drivers plan to carry out a 24-hour strike tomorrow.
The pay hike was originally approved in November by the City’s Taxi & Limousine Commission (TLC). It was scheduled to go into effect on December 19 but is now on hold until Tuesday, January 31, while the case is being litigated. The case involves Uber Technologies Inc, which is suing the TLC to prevent an increase in per-mile and per-minute rates.
