Two Upstate Hospitals Renamed to Garnet Health System

Orange Regional Medical Center in Wallkill and Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris have been renamed “Garnet Health System.”

Citing the fact that the two hospitals already were partners, this name change only makes it easier for people to understand that the hospitals are connected.

The new name derives from the official New York State gem - the garnet.

The name change on the hospital system went into effect on June 18 but it is still expected to take some time to transition all branding to the new name.
