Two Firefighters Hospitalized Battling Car Wash Fire

by Mindy Cohn
Last night's fire at the Hollywood Car Wash on Coney Island Avenue in Kensington sent two firefighters to the hospital with minor injuries.
The two-alarm fire began at approximately 1:30 a.m., burning through the building and destroying the front façade.
Employees at the 24-hour car wash reported hearing what sounded like a small explosion before the fire began, leading investigators to believe the cause of the blaze, which is still under investigation, may have been electrical.
