Travel Agencies Cancel Upcoming Trips to Lizensk Fearing Spread of Coronavirus
Following a guidance from the Mayor of Lizensk banning any gatherings larger than 100 people, many travel agencies have canceled their planned trips to the Town for the Yuhrtzeit of Reb Elimeilech of Lizensk Ztz”l.
On the day of the Yuhrtzeit, the Town, located in Southeast Poland sees thousands of people who come to pray at the gravesite of the holy Tzadik, known as the Noam Elimelech of Lizensk.
The renown Reichberg Travel agency that has one of the largest yearly trips, out out a notice on Wednesday that their annual trip will have to be canceled this year.
“We are sorry to inform you that the mayor of the city of Lizensk has advised the public to take precautionary measures due to the spread of the Coronavirus and will not allow public gatherings to take place this year in Lizensk,” the letter stated.
A similar letter was released by the Feldan Travel agency from London, noting that they too are canceling the planned trip and will be issuing refunds to all customers who have already purchased tickets.
