Torah Written in Memory of Corona Victims by Bachurim of Bobov-45 to be Inaugurated Today

It was the spring of 2020, and the worst of the Coronavirus
Pandemic was behind us. The virus had claimed some the best among our
community, including precious members of the Bobov-45 chassidus.
Everyone understood that these were not private tragedies, but rather they were
korbanos tzibbur, casualties of a gezeirah that had been
decreed for Klal Yisroel for reasons unknown to us.
It was in this spirit that the bachurim of the Bobov-45
chassidus from throughout the world undertook to write a sefer Torah in that
spring, l’iluy nishmas the victims of the virus within the chassidus. Today,
with many of the chassidim from Eretz Yisroel still here, having spent the
Yomim Tovim here, the sefer Torah will be inaugurated, serving as an
everlasting memorial to their lives.
Kesivas Osiyos will take place at the beis Medrash on
fifteenth Avenue and 49th Street, where the chassidus davens during
the weekdays, between the hours of 1:00-4:00. From there it will proceed down
15th Avenue to the Shul on 15th Avenue and 45th
(located within the Beis Yaakov building), at 5:15.
As we hope to emerge from this sad period of the
Coronavirus, this sefer Torah will provide solace and consolation for what has
been lost, as we cling to our most precious Torah and its teachings.
