Top de Blasio Communications Officials Depart

The two top ranking communications officials in Bill de Blasio’s administration are moving on per tweets from the pair and a press release from the Mayor’s Office.

Communications Director Wiley Norvell had worked for the Mayor since his days as Public Advocate. Mr. Norvell is an alum of University of Virginia where he earned a bachelors degree in Political Science and Government and of University of Toronto where he achieved a masters in Public Policy. Mr. Norvell said on Twitter, “It’s a gift to be able to make a difference in the city you love. People in City government work their hearts out. I owe so much to the mayor for putting trust in me, and to the team that has propped me up every step of the way.”

Press Secretary Freddi Goldstein served in the de Blasio administration since 2016 arriving from private sector job at SKDKnickerbocker. Ms. Goldstein earned her bachelors degree from Tulane University. Ms. Goldstein said via a provided statement that “My time spent in City Hall has undoubtedly been the most rewarding experience of my life. I’ve had the chance to give back to the city I love and work on reforms that will forever make New York City more fair and just. I want to thank the Mayor for giving me this unforgettable opportunity – it has been gratefully appreciated.”

Taking the place of Ms. Goldstein will be Bill Neidhardt, a former staffer on the Bernie Sanders 2020 campaign.
