Timely Delivery - Tentative Deal Averts Potential UPS Strike

UPS reached a contract agreement today, averting fears of a strike that would have caused chaos nationwide for businesses and homes alike.
The Teamsters declared the tentative agreement negotiated for its 340,000 members “historic” and “overwhelmingly lucrative.”
Benefits of the agreement include a pay raise and safety improvements, including equipping delivery trucks with air conditioning.
Profits at UPS skyrocketed by over 140% since the last five-year contract was signed with the union right before the arrival of Covid.
“Together we reached a win-win-win agreement on the issues that are important to Teamsters leadership, our employees, and to UPS and our customers,” Carol Tomé, UPS chief executive officer, said in her prepared statement. “This agreement continues to reward UPS’s full- and part-time employees with industry-leading pay and benefits while retaining the flexibility we need to stay competitive, serve our customers and keep our business strong.”
