The Carnage Reaches Yerushalayim: Terror Attack at Entrance to City, Multiple Killed, Wounded

The terrible war that has claimed so many korbanos in Klal Yisroel over nearly two months has reached the heart of the country as terrorists opened fire at the entrance to Yerushalayim in a horrifying attack. 

On Thursday morning, two Hamas terrorists opened fire on Rechov Weizman, one with an automatic weapon and one with a pistol, killing three people and injuring eight more, some seriously. 

The terrorists arrived to the area by car and opened fire. Police found an entire stock of ammunition in their car, suggesting that the attack could have been far worse… Thankfully, the terrorists were neutralized by two reserve soldiers on their way home from duty in Gaza. One of the soldiers was injured in the exchange of fire. 

Among the murdered victims was Haga’on Rav Elimelech Wasserman, Hy”d, an esteemed dayan from the Belzer kehillah, who was on his way to sit on a din Torah in Ashdod. Another victim was a 24-year-old woman, Mrs. Leviya Dickman, Hy”d, a teacher who was on her way home from work. A third murdered victim was Mrs. Chana Ifrigan, the wife of a great talmid chochom, and the principal of a school. Another dayan who was scheduled to sit on the same din Torah with Rav Wasserman was seriously injured in the attack.
