Sunday night, the warm glow of Chanukah was matched by the radiant smiles of over 200 patients and their families who gathered for the Tantzers’ annual Chanukah celebration at Ateres Golda.
The evening was nothing short of magical, offering a much-needed escape for children battling illness and their loved ones. From the moment guests arrived, the atmosphere was filled with a palpable sense of joy and community. The event began with a beautiful performance by the Shir V’Shevach Kids Choir, whose angelic voices set the tone for an unforgettable evening.
Following the choir, the stage was taken by renowned mentalist David Blatt, whose jaw-dropping performance left the crowd in awe. But it was the dancing that truly stole the show. As the music began, the room came alive, with volunteers, children, and parents joining hands and hearts in celebration. The sight of parents beaming with pride and children letting go of their burdens—even for just one night—was deeply moving.
One parent shared, “My daughter hasn’t smiled in weeks. After enduring painful rounds of chemotherapy, I didn’t think I’d ever see her light up like this. Tonight, she was dancing. She was laughing. It’s something I’ll never forget.”
The evening continued with a delicious dessert spread, and every family left with a beautifully curated Chanukah gift box filled with toys and surprises—a final touch to a night that brought so much light to so many lives.
“For these children and their families, life can be unimaginably hard,” said a Tantzers representative. “This Chanukah party wasn’t just about celebrating the holiday—it was about creating a moment of joy, connection, and hope. Seeing those smiles, hearing the laughter, it reminds us why we do this.”
As the families walked out into the Brooklyn night, their hearts were a little lighter, their spirits a little brighter, and their Chanukah memories forever etched with the magic of the Tantzers’ celebration.
