SYEP Applications Have Opened

Enmeshed in turmoil for months over how to fund and the safety of the program for participants, the City's SYEP program - popularly known as "Youth Corps" - has opened its application portal for young people to apply.

The program is taking a different approach this year, with online learning being the focus over actual work experience. Participants will watch videos and complete exercises over the internet in order to earn their stipend. For 14-15 year olds and 16-21 year olds respectively, the pay will be $700 and $1000. 

The program will take place over the course of five weeks through July and August and will be 12 hours per week for younger participants and 18 hours per week for older participants. 

Applications are due by July 15.
