Suspension of Alternate Side Continuing for Another Week

New York – Drivers in New York City will be free from having to move their vehicles for another week, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced.

The suspension of Alternate Side Regulations comes as the city has instituted increasingly strict stay at home orders to combat a deadly coronavirus. Many have complained that having to go out and move their car to make room for street cleaning operations makes it impossible to stay indoors.

De Blasio acceded a week ago to these calls and suspended the regulations for one week. That was extended Tuesday to another week.

De Blasio also announced at a press conference in City Hall that Citi Bike will be giving all healthcare workers free use of their bikes to help them get to work.
