A suspect accused of robbing a USPS postal worker at gunpoint in Crown Heights nearly two weeks ago has been apprehended through a coordinated effort between Boro Park and Crown Heights Shomrim.
The robbery occurred on September 9th, 2024, when two males approached a USPS postal worker on Union Street between Brooklyn Avenue and Kingston Avenue in Crown Heights, holding her at gunpoint and stealing a large amount of mail from her bag. The incident raised concerns with the US Postal Police, who promptly sought assistance from local law enforcement.
Crown Heights Shomrim obtained a picture of the suspect’s vehicle and, with the license plate and description in hand, issued a BOLO to other Shomrim organizations.
Almost two weeks later, Boro Park Shomrim spotted the vehicle and discreetly followed it, while alerting Crown Heights Shomrim and the NYPD. Authorities swiftly moved in, successfully apprehending the suspect and bringing the search to a close.
