Stop Work Orders on the Decline
Mindy Cohen
The NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) was pleased to share news regarding Stop Work Orders in the City.
Stop Work Orders are issued when inspectors determine a site has unsafe work or conditions. According to the DOB, compared to last year, there has been a 33% decrease in Stop Work Orders across the five boroughs. The DOB attributes this drop to their 'efforts to promote education and safety compliance.'
To keep this trend up and prevent an increase in Stop Work Orders in the future, the DOB published a new resource that can be found on their website here. The new publication contains a list of the top ten reasons a Stop Work Order is issued by DOB, along with other helpful information.
