Simcha Felder Defeats Tischler in 44th District City Council Race

Senator Simcha Felder won the special election to fill the vacant City Council seat for the 44th District, scoring around 80% of the vote. Heshy Tishler came in a distant second at around 17% of the vote as of 9:20pm.
The election was called after former Councilman Kalman Yeger went to Albany to serve as Assemblyman, leaving the seat open. With this victory, Senator Felder returns to serve the community on a more local level.
Felder will need to run again in the June primaries, with the general election taking place in November.
