Shomrim Warns: Set Reminders Not to Leave Kids in Cars
Boro Park - With the hot weather in full force, the Boro Park Shomrim is warning drivers to set reminders not to forget their kids.
Temperatures inside a parked car can be 20 to 30 degrees hotter than it is outside. So a day with a balmy 70 degrees weather can actually be 100 degrees inside the car. Forgetting a child there for a half hour while running a quick errand has already led to hundreds of deaths in recent years.
“Look Before You Lock,” a Shomrim slogan cautions in a leaflet distributed around Boro Park. “Never leave a child in a car. A car heats up and becomes a death trap within minutes.:”
