Shabbos in the Shadow of the Coronavirus
Shuls across the world are dealing with the coronavirus pandemic in four different ways:
1. Cities such as Antwerp, Teaneck and Far Rockaway have cancelled all public gatherings and are advising people to daven at home or in private minyanim.
2. Most of the chassidishe kehillas are holding regular schedules but are banning the elderly and ill and are dividing the rest into smaller minyanim.
3. Rebbes such as Ger and Skulen will not lead a tish until the virus ends.
4. Most yeshivas are closed in Crown Heights, Far Rockaway and Eretz Yisroel, though many are still operating.
