Satmar Purchases Two Large Lots for New Shul

By Y.M. Lowy
A major transition is coming to Boro Park as the Satmar Shul, currently located at 1362 49th Street, prepares to build a new Shul.
They signed a contract yesterday to acquire the lots at 1315-1319 47th Street. As per reports, this deal cost a staggering $8 million.
As per early reports, the D’Rose Linen store, a cherished fixture of Boro Park, will be moving its location to continue serving its customers with its big selection and service.
For decades, D’Rose Linen has been a landmark in Boro Park history, founded by Mrs. Devorah Rosenblum. Originally from Dzikov, Poland, she began selling clothing from a single room in her family’s apartment in 1971. Through perseverance and a keen eye for quality, she established D’Rose Linen as a trusted name in the community. Both she and her husband, Reb Yitzchak Sholom Rosenblum, a”h, were survivors of Siberia after the German invasion of Poland. From those challenging beginnings, they rebuilt their lives in Boro Park, creating a successful business that lasted many years.
The Boro Park landscape is ever-changing, and as Satmar prepares to build its new shul, Boro Parks welcomes new beginnings.
