Refresh Fruits offers 30 different kinds of Tasty, Exotic, and Fresh “New Fruits” for Shehechiyanus

The fruits at Refresh Fruits are so ripe, fresh, delicious, and varied that customers who come in for new fruits for their Rosh Hashana tables later report that their shehechiyanus took at least an hour, reported with a laugh Lipa Salamon, the owner of Refresh Fruits.

“Our fruit looks and smells so great, and we have 30 different types of new fruits, so people want to try one of everything,” said Salamon, who has owned the fruit store, which is located at 5510 16th Ave, for five years.

“Customers use the fruits at the table to enhance their Yom Tov and to spend quality time with their kids,” Salamon explained.

Customers seeking a new type of “new fruit,” should first determine whether they prefer sweet or tangy fruits, Salamon said.

If customers like sweeter fruits, Salamon would point out his exotic and beautiful yellow dragon fruits, cherimoyas, and tamarinds, said Salamon, who imports fruit from places as diverse as Guatemala, Mexico, California, Florida, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.

People who prefer tangy fruit might enjoy star fruit, passion fruit, or kumquats, explained Salamon.

“People often can’t decide so they just take one of each,” Solomon said warmly. “Everyone has different tastes. So, I bring in a large variety of choices.”

The fruits are so delicious at Refresh Fruits because, unlike grocery stores, Salamon buys his fruits in advance and only puts them out on display when they are ripened to perfection.

“I time it so that by the time customers see the fruits, the fruits are at their maximum tastiness,” Salamon explained. “I make sure everything is top, top, top quality.”

Customers who first get all their other groceries at regular grocery stores often then head to Refresh Fruits for their produce.

“I have customers who come in because they want “something good” for Shabbos and Yom Tov,” said Salamon, who added that customers tell him that when they buy produce from the regular grocery stores, that produce remains in the fridge because no one wants to eat it.

“The taste of my produce is number one! Eating our fresh fruits and vegetables helps to cultivate delicious healthy habits. The kids just eat it up. Nothing is leftover.

“If you want really, really good fruit, this is the place!”
