Reckless Driving Endangering Schoolchildren

Boro Park is facing a dangerous trend: dashcam clips showing both irresponsible driving by school buses, and cars passing stopped school buses.

A local bus driver shared with BoroPark24 that cars are ignoring flashing red lights and stop signs while children are getting on and off the bus. Shocking videos show vehicles not even slowing down slightly as they pass. This behavior violates traffic laws and can have deadly consequences. 

At the same time, clips have surfaced showing school buses engaging in irresponsible driving, particularly while stuck in traffic. Drivers have been seen changing lanes irresponsibly or failing to obey traffic laws in the heat of heavy congestion.

While none of these actions are justified, it is crucial for everyone, on both sides of the bus, to prioritize safety. Both motorists and school bus drivers must prioritize the safety of the children they are transporting and the community around them. Every illegal maneuver, whether by a bus or passing car, could have tragic consequences, chas v’shalom.
