Quaker Oats Issues Nationwide Recall on Select Products Due to Salmonella Risk

BoroPark24 Staff

The Quaker Oats Company announced a recall of over 40 varieties of granola bars and granola cereal products on Friday due to a possible Salmonella contamination.

The affected Quaker products were sold in the United States and Puerto Rico, including variations of Quaker Big Chewy Bars, Quaker Chewy Dipps, Quaker Puffed Granola Cereal, Quaker Simply Granola, and Quaker Snack Mixes.

The list of products being recalled can be found here.

Consumers are advised to check for specific products listed with the same "best-by" date as can be found on the recall list so as to dispose of them.

There have been no confirmed cases of illness reported to Quaker Oats. Still, Salmonella contamination can sometimes cause serious and even fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly individuals, and those with weakened immune systems.

Consumers can also contact Quaker Consumer Relations (9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday) at 1-800-492-9322 or visit here for additional information or product reimbursement.
