A wave of shock is sweeping through Boro Park as news breaks of a proposed shelter that could be coming to the neighborhood.
The proposed shelter would be located at 5001 10th Avenue and 1016 50th Street, housing 82 families with children. The news has sent shockwaves through the neighborhood, raising fears about how such a large facility could affect the area, which has long been known for its safety and calm.
This controversial proposal will be presented by the Dept of Social Services at Community Board 12's monthly meeting. This is the community’s chance to make their voices heard, as officials will be on hand to hear directly from those most affected.
The meeting will take place Tuesday, February 25th, at 7:00 PM, at the Amico Senior Center, located at 5901 13th Avenue, on the 3rd floor, with the entrance on 59th Street.
This is a critical opportunity for all concerned residents to speak up and express their views on the proposed shelter. The community's participation is crucial in shaping the future of Boro Park, and now is the time to stand together to protect the neighborhood's integrity.
