Proposed Law Would Limit Speed for Drivers With Multiple Violations

In the wake of the heartbreaking accident on Ocean Parkway this past Shabbos afternoon, New York City lawmakers are once again pushing forward a legislative proposal aimed at curbing reckless driving.
Investigators revealed that the driver responsible for the tragedy had an alarming history with seventy traffic violations and speeding tickets, yet was still behind the wheel, tearing through Ocean Parkway at a dangerously high speed.
The proposed legislation would require drivers with multiple speeding violations to install a special device in their vehicles that limits their speed. This measure would serve both as a penalty and as a safeguard, preventing reckless drivers from endangering others, potentially saving lives in the future.
