Pines Resort Hotel Destroyed by Massive Fire

Emergency services, including local fire departments and Catskills Hatzalah, are on the scene of a large, two-alarm fire consuming the long-abandoned Pines Resort Hotel in South Fallsburg, NY. The raging inferno has caused a structural collapse at the site this evening. 

Once a prominent cornerstone in the "Borsht Belt" region of the Catskill Mountains, the hotel shuttered its operations in 1998 amidst financial hardships and significant infrastructural decay. Despite the numerous plans over the years, including expansive housing initiatives, redevelopment of the property remained stagnant due to ongoing disputes concerning ownership.
