Pile of Sawdust Catches Fire in Cheder Yard

Boro Park - A pile of sawdust gathered in a corner of a yeshiva yard in Boro Park Sunday afternoon burst into flames in the summer heat, but there were no injuries or major damage.

Firefighters responded to the scene on East 2nd Street and Elmwood Ave., where The Cheder building is located. A passerby who watched the sawdust catch fire alerted Shomrim, which contacted the fire department.

Firefighters successful doused the flames.
