Phishing Alert for NYS Thruway E-ZPass Customers

The New York State Thruway authority is making travelers aware of a phishing scam targeting those passing through the toll booths on the Thruway. 

The scam involves getting a text message that looks like it comes from Tolls by Mail, and it asks consumers to take action immediately to clear their outstanding balance. It asks the recipient to go to nytollservices dot com. 

As the notice makes clear, the aforementioned website is not affiliated with Tolls by Mail. It urges the public not to click on such a text messages, but to delete it immediately.
